With operations in Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador, Ocean Trout Canada is exclusively focused in Atlantic Canada. Situated in the picturesque Bedford, Nova Scotia, our administrative office serves as the central hub for our leadership team. They skillfully orchestrate strategic initiatives to guide our operations team in delivering exceptional products and services.

Our Operations
Ocean Trout Canada maintains two hatchery facilities in Atlantic Canada. Both facilities produce juvenile fish for introductions to our farm sites in Newfoundland and in Nova Scotia.

CEO
Bill has 25+ years of experience in the fisheries and aquaculture sector in Canada. He is a Certified Management Consultant, a certified Project Management Professional, and holds designations for productivity improvement.
Chris Grimes-Goard
CFO
Chris is a CPA with 10+ years experience in accounting and finance. Most recently, Chris was a Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in the Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services and Commercial Assurance groups where he was responsible for advising clients on capital markets transactions, finance transformation, IFRS advisory, and third-party commercial advisory.
Our Process
Ocean Trout Canada handles the production of our premium Steelhead products from birth to harvest, from smolts at our freshwater hatcheries up to maturity at our marine sites.
Premium Steelhead Trout
Meticulously sourced for its superior quality and exceptional flavor, our Steelhead products are rich in essential nutrients like protein and Omega-3 fatty acids. Freshwater Hatcheries
Our freshwater hatcheries serve as incubators for our Steelhead. Here, we meticulously hatch each egg and raise the fish until they reach the ideal stocking size. This crucial early stage of development takes place in a controlled and pristine environment. We utilize state-of-the-art Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) to ensure optimal growth and health before transferring the fish to our marine sites for further maturation.
Ocean Farm Sites
Once our Steelhead reach the proper degree of development, we seamlessly relocate them to our expansive marine net pen sites situated in the pristine waters of Atlantic Canada. This transition allows our Steelhead to flourish and progress towards their full maturity, harnessing the natural benefits of the brackish marine environment to optimize their growth and overall health.
